I was born and raised in Minnesota and after college moved to Loveland and have lived here ever since.

 

Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
My husband, Marv and I have two children, who luckily live nearby with our three grandchildren.

Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?
I taught elementary school in Loveland for many years.

Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community?
I love Origins in downtown Loveland and Bent Fork in the Centerra area.

Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?
WAY long – – – 49 years!

Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?
This person changes almost daily, depending upon who I meet in a coffee shop, who checks me out at King Soopers or who I meet walking in my neighborhood.

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
Africa – I am intrigued by both the wildlife and the people.

Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
One of my favorite movies is The Book Thief. I love historical fiction and the main character is an amazing young girl with her strength and love of reading.

Q: What advice would you give to people?
Be active. It is so great for us, both mentally and physically.

Q: What is something on your bucket list?
To hike the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, EARNING my first sight of the area.

Q: What is your go to band when you cant decide what to listen to?
Right now it would be Ed Sheeran.

Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?
Simone Biles – I would love to learn more about where she gets her tremendous drive.  We would have wood-fired pizza at Origins.

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
Benson Sculpture Park ranks at the top of my list.

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
I see myself right here in Loveland.

Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
In college, I was voted to be “Carrie,” Paul Bunyan’s girlfriend, at Bemidji State College, up in Paul Bunyan land.

Q: What is the most beautiful place you have ever been?
One of the most beautiful places to me is Arches National Park.

Q: Favorite month? favorite holiday? and best single day on the calendar?
Month: September. Holiday: Christmas. Day: Any day I laugh until I cry!

Q: What would you rate a 10 out of 10?
A camping trip I took with my husband to Utah where we had the opportunity to hike through slot canyons – amazing!

Q: Who inspires you to be better?
My kids! I see how wonderful they are with their own children, and this inspires me to be a better person.

Q: What is one or two of your favorite smells?
Mentholatum Ointment and meatloaf in the oven.

Q: Finally, what 3 words or phrases come to mind when you think of the word HOME?
Family – Security – Fun
